Fred Meijer of the RKD, The Hague, has confirmed that this painting is an independent autograph work by Everbroeck. Frans van Everbroeck was a pupil of Joris van Son in Antwerp. In 1661/62 he was accepted as a master by the Antwerp St. Lukasgilde. Among his followers were Abraham Mignon and Maria van Oosterwyck.
